HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a hotel chain, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation laws.

Chastity Stewart, for herself and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a lawsuit April 7 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Pearland Capital Group LP, doing business as Hilton Garden Inn Pearland, alleging failure to fairly compensate employees.

According to the complaint, from Aug. 26, 2014, to Oct. 31, 2015, Stewart was required to work overtime as a guest services agent for at least five extra hours per week but was not paid an overtime wage for those hours. The plaintiff alleges the defendant had knowledge of her total hours and intentionally changed Stewart's time cards in order to avoid paying overtime wages.

Stewart seeks a trial by jury, an injunction against the defendant, award of damages including liquidated and exemplary, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Andre D. Evans of Andre Evans & Associates, PLLC in Houston.
