By Gene Johnson | Apr 19, 2016

BEAUMONT – A Garland woman is suing the owners of a chain of hotels, claiming that she suffered injuries when an elevator she was in at a hotel in Beaumont unexpectedly fell several floors.

Ashley Bowser filed a complaint Feb. 22 in the Jefferson County District Court against Investment Corp. of Hotels, doing business as MCM Hotels, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Bowser was injured on or about Dec. 10, 2014, while at the MCM Elegante Beaumont, which is owned by MCM Hotels. The suit states she entered an elevator on the eighth floor, which unexpectedly fell several floors. She claims she was thrown to the floor when the elevator stopped the fall.

She is seeking monetary recovery of more than $100,000, but not more than $200,000, as well as medical expenses in the past and future. Bowser is represented by attorney John C. Wren of Loncar & Associates in Dallas.
