GALVESTON —  A distributor of natural gas is suing a Galveston County concrete business, alleging the defendant did not pay for damaging a facility.

Centerpoint Energy Resources Corp. filed a lawsuit March 22, in Galveston County District Court against Shawn Clift, doing business as Pro Concrete,  alleging failure to to pay for the damages done to plaintiff's facilities.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 24, 2014, Centerpoint property was damaged by Pro Concrete, causing $15,772.02 in damages, The suit says the plaintiff has not been reimbursed for the cost of the damage done to its property. 

The plaintiff alleges Pro Concrete damaged a gas line owned by plaintiff while working near 3000 state Highway 146, Bacliff. The defendant has refused to pay the damage done to plaintiff's property despite written demands sent to him, the suit says.

Centerpoint Energy Resources seeks monetary relief of up to $100,000, the repair sum of $15,772.02, interest at the highest allowable rate by the law, legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorneys Clara Tse and Kurt L. Lyn of Lam, Lyn & Philip PC in Houston.
