TYLER — A Tyler truck driver is suing a Tennessee company, alleging its negligence caused her injuries in a crash.

Builders Transportation, a Tennessee corporation , citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Tanja Gonzales filed a lawsuit May 3 in the Tyler Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Builders Transportation of Memphis, Tennessee,  alleging negligence for insufficiently taking measure to prevent injuries.

According to the complaint, on May 31, 2015, in the Pilot Travel Center parking lot in Tyler, another vehicle struck the back of Gonzales' 18-wheel rig, causing her to sustain injuries when she was violently thrown under the hood of her truck. The driver of that vehicle, William Nolley, was an employee of Builders Transportation.

The plaintiff alleges Nolley failed to properly control his speed which caused injuries to Gonzales' neck, back, arm and body. The suit says she also incurred medical expenses as well as physical pain and mental anguish.

Gonzales seeks trial by jury and actual, economic and compensatory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Keith Miller of the Law Offices of Keith Miller in Tyler, and Blake C. Erskine of Erskine & McMahon LLP in Longview.
