Taqueria Govea accused of not paying overtime

HOUSTON – An employee alleges she was not paid overtime while working for a food truck.

Angela Pinto filed a complaint on May 4 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Gerardo Govea and doing business as Taqueria Govea alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per work week but was not paid any overtime wages in violation of state and federal law.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant, order for the defendant to pay plaintiff all unpaid wages and liquidated damages equal to the unpaid wage, interest at the highest rate allowed by the law, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by S. Aftab Sharif in Houston.
