GALVESTON — A Norwegian corporation is suing a Houston offshore energy business, alleging failure to pay a debt of more than $2 million.

Solstad Operations AS filed a lawsuit May 13 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Ranger Offshore Inc., alleging failure to make payments to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, between May 11, 2015 and January 2016, Solstad suffered damages as a result of an unpaid charter for its vessel. The plaintiff alleges Ranger Offshore failed to make regular payments for charter of Solstad's ocean-going vessel M/V Norman Commander.

The suit says the defendant owes the plaintiff $2,414,709.

Solstad Operations seeks judgment of $2,414,709, damages, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just.  It is represented by attorney Keith B. Letourneau of Blank Rome LLP in Houston.
