Castleton Commodities Shipping Co. Pte. LTD files suit alleging breach of contract

HOUSTON – A foreign company with a place of business in Connecticut alleges an Illinois company breached a contract between the parties.

Castleton Commodities Shipping Co. Pte. LTD filed a complaint on May 25 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against HSL Shipping & Logistics (NA) Inc., formerly known as Hudson Shipping Lines Inc., and Hudson Shipping Lines Inc. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as a result of a joint order escrow account not being funded. The plaintiff holds HSL Shipping & Logistics (NA) Inc. and Hudson Shipping Lines Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to perform their obligations to fund plaintiff according to the contract both parties agreed to.

The plaintiff seeks all damages, freight due and payable for cargo owed to plaintiff, interest, $12,060,232, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just.
