GALVESTON – A Galveston man has filed suit against his former fiancee seeking the return of the diamond engagement ring.

Jonathon Jaquay filed a complaint on May 26 in the Galveston County District Court against Natasha Reyes alleging conversion.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he proposed to the defendant in July 2015 with a ring he purchased for $28,500. The suit states the engagement was called off in January. The plaintiff holds Reyes responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to return the ring to plaintiff after their engagement was broken.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, return of the ring, temporary restraining order blocking the sale of the ring, all legal fees, interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Shaun Hodge of Hodge Law Firm PLLC in Galveston.
