Employee accuses security systems business of failing to pay overtime

Late 01

HOUSTON — An employee is suing a security systems business, alleging failure to pay overtime.

Steven Barnard filed a lawsuit May 26 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Knight Security Systems LLC, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, in  failing to fairly compensate plaintiff for overtime work.

According to the complaint, between June 8-Oct. 29, 2015, Barnard worked more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime premium. The plaintiff alleges Knight Security paid plaintiff his regular pay for all his hours of work and not time and a half for overtime as required by the FLSA.

Barnard seeks a trial by jury, unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attonrey Glenn W. Patterson Jr. of Green, Patterson & Schultz, P.C. in Houston.
