Former World of Beer employee alleges she wasn't paid overtime

Law money 10

HOUSTON – A Pearland woman who was employed as a server and bartender for a Katy restaurant has filed a class-action lawsuit alleging she and other class members were not paid overtime wages.

Bridgette Reissig filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on May 31 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Houston Beer Ventures I LLC, doing business as World of Beer, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between January 2014 and April 2015, she worked for more than 40 hours per workweek but was not paid any overtime wages by the defendant. The plaintiff holds Houston Beer Ventures I LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay any overtime compensation to their employees and created a hostile work environment for her when she complained about the unpaid overtime.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant, unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, all damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Joe Williams of The Law Offices of Joe M. Williams & Associates PLLC in Houston.
