GALVESTON — A Galveston County woman is suing a Friendswood pet owner, alleging the defendant's dog attacked the plaintiff.

Lisa Peck filed a lawsuit Aug. 18 in Galveston County District Court against Tracy Ann Johnson, alleging negligence in failing to restrain her dog.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 5, 2015, Peck was walking her 6-month old dog along the Wilderness Trail in Friendswood when several dogs began running toward them. The suit says a pit bull, owned by Johnson, viciously attacked Peck's dog and began biting the plaintiff as well.

In an attempt to save herself and her dog, the lawsuit states, Peck sustained severe injuries that caused pain, medical expenses, disability, and physical impairment.

The plaintiff alleges Johnson failed to supervise her dog, failed to remove the dog from the premises before the incident and failed to properly train her dog.

Peck seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $50,000, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by attorneys Loren G. Klitsas and Jared W. Capps of Klitsas & Vercher PC in Houston.
