HOUSTON — A Texas woman is suing joint Houston employers, alleging disability discrimination and wrongful termination.

Jasmine Jackson filed a lawsuit Sept. 22 in Harris County District Court against Sutherland Global Services Inc. and Sutherland Mortgage Services Inc., alleging violation of the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, Jackson suffers from periodic migraine headaches that can be severe and can substantially impair her ability see and concentrate. The suit says she was fired Jan. 14, causing her to suffer economic damages and emotional distress.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to accommodate her disability, failed to engage in interactive process and retaliated against her for exercising her rights under the TCHRA by terminating her employment.

Jackson seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, reinstatement and/or front pay, attorney fees, court costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and all further relief. She is represented by attorney Nitin Sud of Sud Law PC in Bellaire.
