HOUSTON — A Houston man is suing a local custom millwork producer, alleging violation of workers compensation acts in failure to pay overtime.

Ivan Rodriguez Perez filed a class action complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Nov. 11 in the Houston Division for the Southern District of Texas against JF Millwork Inc. of Houston, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Perez worked far in excess of 40 hours a week but was only paid straight time. The plaintiff alleges JF Millwork failed to pay him overtime at one-and-one-half times his regular rate as required by FLSA.

Perez seeks trial by jury, all unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorney fees and court costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by attorney Jeralynn Manor of The Manor Law Firm in Houston.
