Paralegal accuses Intel Corp. of withholding overtime wages

SHERMAN — A contract paralegal is suing Intel Corp. and Jared Ross, employers, citing alleged violation of workers compensation acts.

Laronda Michelle Bruins filed a complaint on Oct. 11, in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against the defendants alleging that they violated the the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between February 2015 and December 2015, she regularly worked for over 40 hours per week but was not paid one and one-half times her regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week. The plaintiff holds Intel Corp. and Jared Ross responsible because the defendants allegedly failed and refused to pay proper overtime compensation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment be awarded to her for her unpaid overtime wages, additional equal amount as liquidated damages, attorney's fee, costs of court and interest. She is represented by William Lamoreaux of William Lamoreaux Law Office in Dallas.
