HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing her employers, alleging violation of workers compensation acts in failing to pay proper overtime wages.
Janet Sadriu filed a lawsuit Nov. 9 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against
Huntleigh USA Corporation and Summer Dolan,
alleging that they violated he Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, between June-Oct. 28, Sadriu typically worked for Huntleigh a total of 50 hours per week as a training manager without receiving overtime payment. At the rate of $15 per hour, the suit says, she is owed $2,520 in unpaid overtime wages.
The plaintiff, who began working for Huntleigh in 2011, alleges the defendants willfully disregarded her federally protected rights by not making a good faith effort to comply with the overtime provisions of the FLSA and not keeping proper time records.
Sadriu seeks trial by jury, $2,520 for the unpaid overtime wages, plus $2,520 for liquidated damages, interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other relief the court deems just and equitable. She is represented by attorneys Thomas H. Padgett, Jr. of Ross Law Group in Bellaire and Charles L. Scalise and Daniel B. Ross of Ross Law Group in Austin.
