MARSHALL — A Louisiana mother and her son are suing tractor trailer operators, alleging their negligence led to a crash that injured the plaintiffs.

Lakesia Carey of Ruston, Louisiana, individually and on behalf of TW, a minor, filed a lawsuit Jan. 4 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Brandon M. Barnhill and Southeast Logistics LLC, alleging Southeast Logistics negligently entrusted its vehicle to a careless driver.

As a result, the suit states, the plaintiffs sustained serious injuries resulting in pain, mental anguish and medical expenses. The plaintiffs allege Barnhill failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle, failed to keep careful lookout and failed to maintain safe distance.

Casey and her son seek trial by jury, judgment in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, interest, court costs and expenses and all other equitable relief. They are represented by attorney Donivan W. Flowers of The Flowers Law Firm PC in Tyler.
