Customer blames Kroger for injuries

Slip01

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing Kroger, alleging negligence led to her suffering injuries.

Gabriela Salinas filed a complaint Jan. 24 in Harris County District Court against Kroger Texas LP, alleging failure to provide a safe place to shop.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 31, 2016, Salinas was shopping at the Kroger store on Garth Road in Baytown when she slipped and fell in a slick substance on the floor. The suit says Salinas sustained injuries to her back, right knee and other parts of her body that resulted in medical expenses, physical and mental pain and lost wages.

The plaintiff alleges Kroger Texas failed to correct the dangerous condition and failed to warn Salinas of the existence of the dangerous condition.

Salinas seeks trial by jury, judgment in an amount in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys John A. Daspit and Brent W. Randel of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
