MARSHALL — A Smith County woman is suing a Tyler hospice, alleging pregnancy discrimination.

Nicole Wilson filed a complaint Jan. 30 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Grace Hospice of East Texas LLC, alleging violation of the Pregnancy Discrimination Act.

According to the complaint, as a result of Grace Hospice's unlawful employment practices, Wilson was deprived of equal employment opportunities because of her sex and has been damaged in the form of lost wages and fringe benefits and mental anguish. The plaintiff alleges the defendant terminated her from her employment because she was pregnant.

Wilson seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages of $250,000 and all other proper relief. She is represented by attorney Bob Whitehurst of Tyler.
