Worker blames employer for hacksaw injuries

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing his employer, alleging negligence caused the plaintiff injuries. 

Michael Mitchell filed a complaint March 13 in Harris County District Court against Robles Properties Inc. alleging that the employer failed to provide a safe work environment.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 16, 2015, while in the course of his employment, Mitchell sustained serious and permanent injuries when a hacksaw slipped from the hands of a co-employee and fell on the plaintiff's hand. 

The plaintiff alleges Robles Properties negligently hired and retained careless employees and failed to properly train and supervise its employees.

Mitchell seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys G. Brandon Schilter and John Arthur Daspit of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
