Daughter blames health care providers for mother's death

SHERMAN — An Oklahoma woman is suing Texas health care providers, alleging corporate negligence and breach of contract.

Andrea B. Stonecipher of Pontotoc County, Oklahoma,, as next of kin of Maria B. Bullard, deceased, filed a complaint March 23, in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Hollymead Continuing Care Center LTD. Co., Cantex Health Care Centers III LLC, et al, alleging they failed to perform their contractual obligations to transport Bullard to and from the Hollymead facility and the Renal Center of Lewsiville.

According to the complaint, as a direct and proximate result of the defendants' gross negligence, Bullard suffered renal failure and catastrophic injuries that ultimately led to her death March 24, 2015. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly communicate with one another regarding the transportation of Bullard.

Stonecipher seeks compensatory damages in excess of $75,000, plus interest, attorney fees, costs of court and all other relief. She is represented by attorneys J. Wes Billingsley of Billingsley & Associates PLLC in Ada, Oklahoma, and by Gerald W. Roberts of G. W. Roberts Law Firm PLLC in Dallas.
