HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing Chevron, alleging disability discrimination and wrongful or constructive eviction.

Marie East filed a complaint April 5 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Chevron USA Inc., alleging failure to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act.

According to the complaint, during her tenure with defendant, East, who had injured her back in 2013, was subjected to adverse terms and conditions of employment, causing her to suffer lost wages and earning capacity, emotional pain and suffering and mental anguish.

The plaintiff alleges Chevron USA refused to provide reasonable accommodation, subjected her to discrimination and terminated her employment in 2015 because of her disability.

East seeks trial by jury, back pay, reinstatement or front pay, compensatory damages, punitive damages, interest, court costs and all just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Todd Slobin and Brian J. Levy of Shellist Lazarz Slobin LLP in Houston.
