Electric business alleges contractor owes more than $140,000

BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County electric business is suing a contractor, alleging breach of a subcontract agreement.

Gulf Coast Electric Co. Inc. filed a complaint May 24 in Jefferson County District Court against Morganti Texas Inc., alleging failure to fulfill its contract obligations and owes more than $140,000. 

According to the complaint, on Aug. 26, 2013,  the parties entered into a subcontract agreement in which Gulf Coast Electric performed services on behalf of Morganti Texas. The suit says Gulf Coast Electric has been damaged for not receiving full payment for its services, totaling $143,768. 

The plaintiff alleges Morganti Texas accepted and benefited from the plaintiff's services but failed to pay for them.

Gulf Coast Electric seeks trial by jury, judgment of at least $143,768, plus legal interest, attorney fees, costs of court and all other relief. It is represented by attorney Wyatt D. Snider of Snider Law Firm PLLC in Beaumont.
