HOUSTON — A Hempstead oil field service company is suing a former employee, alleging she breached her employment agreement.
Refinery Specialties Inc. filed a complaint June 1 in Harris County District Court against Jennifer Carmichael of Spring, Texas, alleging she failed to perform her obligations under a contract.
According to the complaint, Refinery Specialties has suffered and will continue to suffer irreparable harm to its business reputation and good will unless the court renders a decision in its favor. The plaintiff alleges Carmichael. who had worked for RSI as a senior production chemist, secretly copied and transmitted the plaintiff's confidential information to her new employer and actively solicited the plaintiff's employees and customers to transfer to her new employer.
Refinery Specialties seeks trial by jury, monetary relief up to $100,000, an order directing Carmichael to immediately cease and desist soliciting any of the plaintiff's employees and customers, actual and exemplary damages, costs of court and all other equitable relief.
