HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing property owners, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Lorena Reyes filed a complaint June 2 in the Harris County District Court against Monty Partners LLP, El Ahorro Supermarket #2 LLC and Hempstead W. 43rd Street Interests LLP alleging they breached their duty to provide a safe workplace.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 17, 2016, she was mopping the floor at the defendant El Ahorro Supermarket #2 when she slipped and fell. As a result, plaintiff sustained serious injuries that resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish and loss of earnings. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff of the hazard of her employment and failed to furnish safe instruments for her work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of over $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other relief to which plaintiff may be entitled. She is represented by George K. Farah of Guerra & Farah PLLC in Houston.
