HOUSTON — A Corpus Christi man is suing the Houston Police Department, alleging false imprisonment and illegal detention.

Collins O. Nyabwa filed a complaint June 6 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against the Houston Police Department and police officers, alleging they violated plaintiff's constitutional rights.

According to the complaint, as a result of the defendants' false report, he was rendered homeless, was unable to rent a car and had been dropped out of the lucrative house he was pursuing. To date, he continues to suffer the effects of the false report. 

The plaintiff holds alleges the Houston police filed a false accident report, falsely imprisoned and detained him and subjected him to constant stingray surveillance.

The plaintiff seeks trial by jury, 2 million for physical and emotional distress and $5 million for unconstitutional surveillance he has endured since December 2013. He is representing himself.
