HOUSTON — A woman is suing a health care facility, citing alleged negligence.

Terry Hopkins filed a complaint June 12 in the Harris County District Court against Woman's Hospital of Texas Inc., alleging the facility operator failed to provide a safe environment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 4, 2016, she was visiting her granddaughter at the defendant's hospital when she slipped on a recently mopped floor. She sustained serious and permanent injuries to her shoulder, neck and head. The plaintiff holds Woman's Hospital of Texas responsible because allegedly the defendant negligently allowed the hallway to be slippery for a long period of time and failed to provide warnings that the floor was slippery.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of between $200,000 and $1 million and other relief she may be entitled. She is represented by Jeffrey N. Todd of The Law Firm of Alton C. Todd in Friendswood.
