HOUSTON — A tenant is suing a Houston apartment complex operators, alleging their negligence led to her and her dog being attacked by raccoons.

Kirby Barron filed a complaint July 7 in Harris County District Court against AMLI Management et al, alleging they failed to maintain the common areas of the 7009 Almeda Road premises reasonably safe.

According to the complaint, on July 22, 2015, Barron sustained severe injuries when she and her dog were attacked and bitten by raccoons at the apartment complex being operated and maintained by defendants.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to reduce and/or eliminate the dangerous condition and ceased paying invoices from Wildlife Animal Control, which stopped its trapping efforts to eliminate raccoons in the complex.

Barron seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of between $200,000 and $1 million and all other equitable additional relief. She is represented by attorney James M. Juranek of The Juranek Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
