HOUSTON – A man formerly employed by BEI Engineers alleges he was only paid his regular rate of pay for overtime work.

Jorge Arredondo, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on July 19 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Bandini Enterprises Inc., doing business as BEI Engineers, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant from January 2014 to January 2016. He alleges that he worked more than 40 hours in a workweek for defendant but was not paid proper overtime compensation.

The plaintiff holds Bandini Enterprises Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to compensate its non-exempt employees at a rate of time-and-a-half their regular rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid wages, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, costs, interest and penalties and all further relief as the court deems just and appropriate. He is represented by J. Moises Cedillos and John M. Padilla of Padilla & Rodriguez LLP in Houston.
