Former employee files suit against Cimarron Hospitality Corp, others over sexual harassment claims

Wrongful term 01

HOUSTON – A Houston woman formerly employed as a guest service agent alleges she was terminated in retaliation for complaining of sexual harassment by a supervisor.

Porscha Austin filed a complaint on July 20 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Cimarron Hospitality Corp., doing business as Fairfield Inn and Suites; Arlington Express Hotel Inc.; Michael Yates, et al. alleging that they violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired by the defendants in July 2015 and beginning February 2016, she was continuously sexually harassed by Yates until her termination on June 1, 2016.

The plaintiff holds Cimarron Hospitality Corp., doing business as Fairfield Inn and Suites; Arlington Express Hotel Inc.; Michael Yates, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly terminated her employment because she denied Yates' advances and because of her harassment complaints.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and compensatory damages, plus interest, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, costs of court and all further general or special relief. She is represented by George K. Farah and Nathan E. Inurria of Guerra & Farah PLLC in Houston.
