HOUSTON – A Harris County man has filed a suit against several establishments and individuals after he was allegedly beaten and shot by an employee.

Shawn Canales filed a complaint on July 19 in the Harris County District Court against Emiliano's Sports Bar, Medeles Partners, Billares Mexicanos Inc., Veronica Trevino, Maria Medeles, et al. seeking damages due and owing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was attempting to help another person when he was beaten, assaulted and shot by one of defendants' employees. He alleges he sustained serious and severe injuries and emotional damages.

The plaintiff holds Emiliano's Sports Bar, Medeles Partners, Billares Mexicanos Inc, Veronica Ruiz, Maria Medeles, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to exercise ordinary prudence under similar circumstances.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and all other relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Joseph R. Little of The Little Law Firm PC in Houston and Taft A. Foley II of The Foley Law Firm in Houston.
