Motorist seeks more than $100,000 in damages after Port Arthur collision

Car accident 02

BEAUMONT – A Port Arthur man alleges that he was injured in a collision in the city and that the driver that struck him fled the scene.

David Stephens filed a complaint on Aug. 4 in the Jefferson County District Court against Teresa A. Lively alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 18, 2015, he sustained injuries and damages when his vehicle was struck by defendant's vehicle at the intersection of West 14th Street and Joe Louis Avenue in Port Arthur. The suit states the defendant ignored the traffic signal, struck plaintiff's vehicle and then fled the scene.

The plaintiff holds Lively responsible because the defendant allegedly drove recklessly, failed to stop and render aid and failed to keep a proper lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000, plus interest and such other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Roger A. Sullivan of Brann Sullivan Trial Lawyers PC in Houston.
