Man alleges General Plastic and Composites owes unpaid overtime wages

Law money 08

HOUSTON – A Harris County manufacturer of engineered components and turnkey products is alleged to have failed to pay the correct rate for overtime work.

McDonald North filed a complaint individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated on Aug. 24 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against General Plastic and Composites LP alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between August 2014 and July 2016, he frequently worked more than 40 hours in a workweek for defendant but was not paid time-and-a-half his regular rate for those hours worked in excess of 40 per workweek.

The plaintiff holds General Plastic and Composites LP responsible because the defendant allegedly did not pay overtime wages at the overtime rate required by the FLSA.

The plaintiff requests a jury trial and seeks an order certifying this action as a collective action, award for all unpaid wages at the applicable rate, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, costs and expenses and such other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Alexander Defreitas of The Defreitas Firm in Houston.
