SHERMAN – A Denton County man alleges he was not hired for a job at a Frisco medical office because he had filed a complaint about his previous employer regarding discrimination.
Robert Harrison filed a complaint on Aug. 29 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Obiora M. Ekweani MD, individually and doing business as Frisco Clinics & Urgent Care, alleging unlawful retaliation.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff had interviewed for a position with the defendant's practice in May 2016. He alleges he was later told that the defendant would not hire him because he had filed a discrimination complaint while working for his previous employer.
The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the defendant allegedly retaliated against him for engaging in a protected activity.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages under the federal law, reinstatement, court costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other legal and equitable relief. He is represented by Matthew R. Scott and Javier Perez of Scott Perez LLP in Dallas.
