AUSTIN – A McGregor man alleges he was terminated by a college because of his age and replaced with a younger individual.
Robert White filed a complaint on Aug. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division against Texas State Technical College alleging violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 6, 2016, he was terminated from his employment with the defendant as an instructor after more than 40 years of service. He also claims that during his employment, he was the only instructor that did not receive a raise when "across the board" raises were given in 2013.
The plaintiff holds Texas State Technical College responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected him to adverse employment practices and immediately terminated him without notice or warning and replaced him by a much younger and less-qualified individual.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks the sum of $200,000 in compensatory damages, back pay and front pay, costs and attorneys' fees and all further relief as deemed just. He is represented by Scott V. Allen of Scott V. Allen, Attorney at Law in Temple.
