Woman alleges wet floor at Ramada Houston International East caused fall, spine injury

Slip01

HOUSTON – A business invitee is seeking $1 million from a hotel owner and hospitality company after a fall at a Humble hotel.

Cindy DiFerdinand filed a complaint on Sept. 6 in the Harris County District Court against HASRE Investments LLC and HAS Hospitality LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan 20, she was staying at the Ramada Houston International East hotel when she slipped and fell on a wet marble floor that was just recently mopped. She alleges she later learned she ruptured the L5-S1 disc in her spine and needed surgery as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds HASRE Investments LLC and HAS Hospitality LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly secure or provide warning about the wet floor and failure to provide adequate medical treatment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Kurt Arnold, Caj Boatright, Roland Christensen and Allison Baimbridge of Arnold & Itkin LLP in Houston.
