BEAUMONT – A Liberty County resident and seaman alleges he injured his knee twice while working on a vessel.

Timothy McFarland filed a complaint on Sept. 15 in the Jefferson County District Court against Buffalo Marine Service Inc. citing the Jones Act and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 6, 2016, he re-injured his knee when he fell on stairs aboard defendant's San Blas. The suit states he had previously injured his knee in April 2015 also while working for the defendant. He alleges he has suffered pain and suffering, lost wages, disfigurement and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Buffalo Marine Service Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide proper training and supervision and failed to provide proper tools and equipment necessary to accomplish his duties safely.

The plaintiff seeks to recover damages in accordance with evidence, attorney's fees, costs and interest and such other legal and equitable relief. He is represented by Brian Beckcom and Lena Laurenzo of VB Attorneys in Houston.
