HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges he was struck by a crossing arm at the Houston Aquarium and was injured.

Miguel Palacios filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in the Harris County District Court against Houston Aquarium Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 19, 2016, he was seated aboard the defendant's train and sustained serious personal injuries when a crossing arm was activated without warning and struck him. 

He alleges he has suffered pain and suffering, reasonable medical expenses, loss of earnings and disfigurement. 

The plaintiff holds Houston Aquarium Inc. responsible because the defendant's employees allegedly carelessly operated the train's crossing arm in the premises and caused it to struck plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other legal and equitable relief. He is represented by Jonathan C. Kieschnick of The Crim Law Firm PC in Houston.
