HOUSTON – A former assistant sales manager for a cellphone retailer alleges he was terminated because of his age.

Paul Schneider filed a complaint on Oct. 19 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against AT&T Mobility Services LLC alleging that the telecommunications company violated Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is 62 and began working for the defendant's predecessors in 1992. He alleges that in July 2014, he was falsely accused of mishandling inventories and falsifying documentation, but this was later cleared. The suit states he was placed on a performance improvement plan, instructed to train younger employees as assistant managers, and was fired on Feb. 9, 2015. 

The plaintiff holds AT&T Mobility Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated him because of his age and replaced him with younger employees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back pay and benefits, reinstatement, compensatory and liquidated damages, attorney's fees, costs and interest and such other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by David C. Holmes of Law Offices of David C. Holmes in Houston.
