Sales support manager files discrimination suit against Certified Payment Processing

DALLAS – A Dallas County man alleges he faced discrimination by his employer after he injured his knee.

Traye Winn filed a complaint on Nov. 8 in the Dallas Division of the Northern District of Texas against Certified Payment Processing LP alleging retaliation discrimination and disability discrimination.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired by the defendant in February 2016 as a sales support manager at its Carrollton office. The suit states he injured his knee in May 2016 and had surgery the following month. He alleges he had medical documentation that he was unable to work, but the defendant threatened that he would be terminated if he did not return to work. He alleges he was micromanaged, harassed and discriminated against when he returned to work.

The plaintiff holds Certified Payment Processing LP responsible because the defendant allegedly intentionally engaged in unlawful employment practices by discriminating against him because of his injury and retaliated against him.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back pay and front pay, exemplary damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs of court and such other and further relief. He is represented by W.D. Masterson of Kilgore & Kilgore PLLC in Dallas.
