BEAUMONT – A Kountze woman claims a Lumberton business's negligence caused her injuries while at work.

Diana Laduca and Joseph Laduca filed a complaint on Oct. 25 in the Jefferson County District Court against Christian Harrison, individually and doing business as Majestic Air Conditioning and Heating alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in July 13, 2016, plaintiff Diana Laduca was sitting at her desk at Kinsel Motor Co. when the ceiling above her collapsed and fell onto her. The suit states that at the time of the incident, the defendant was working on the air conditioner above her desk.

The plaintiffs hold Harrison and Majestic Air Conditioning and Heating responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to exercise ordinary care and failed to make appropriate safety preparations to avoid accidents.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief of more than $1 million with interest and all other relief that are legal and equitable. They are represented by Paul F. Ferguson Jr. of The Ferguson Law Firm LLP in Beaumont.
