Almeda China Star Inc. customer seeks more than $1 million in damages after fall

Slip01

HOUSTON – A Harris County woman is seeking more than $1 million after falling in a buffet restaurant.

Maria Fischer filed a complaint on Dec. 5, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against Almeda China Star Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 24, 2016, she was injured at defendant's place of business when she slipped and fell on a slick and/or greasy substance by the trash bin. She claims she violently fell to the floor and sustained severe injuries resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Alameda China Star Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to clean up the area or warn of the condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other relief to which she may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by Brit N. Mitchell and Niles Sneed of Britmitchell Law PLLC in Houston.
