HOUSTON – A Houston woman is seeking $500,000 in damages over an alleged elbow injury she sustained while shopping at a grocery store.

Felicia Fontenot filed a complaint on Dec. 22, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against H-E-B Grocery Co. LP alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 4, 2016, she was severely injured while shopping at defendant's store No. 551 located at 11815 Westheimer in Houston. She alleges an employee operating a pallet jack carrying a heavy load slammed into her left elbow.

The plaintiff holds H-E-B Grocery Co. LP responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly inspect and maintain the flooring in a reasonably safe condition and failed to give adequate warning of the unsafe condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount of not less than $500,000, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other lawful and equitable relief. She is represented by Troy J. Pradia of The Cox Pradia Law Firm in Houston.
