HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges that he was injured after tripping on a trampoline at a Katy store.

Abel Zavala filed a complaint on Feb. 8 in the Harris County District Court against Goodwill Industries of Houston alleging negligent training, premises liability and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 23, 2017, he was injured while entering defendant's Goodwill store in Katy when he tripped and fell on a small trampoline on the floor. He alleges he sustained severe injuries that required extensive medical treatment.

The plaintiff holds Goodwill Industries of Houston responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep its inventories in a safe location and failed to warn its customers of the unsafe condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other relief to which he may show himself justly entitled. He is represented by Daniel Johnson, Juan C. Garcia and Nefi Lopez of Johnson Garcia LLP in Houston.
