HOUSTON – A commercial office furniture service provider has brought a defamation lawsuit against a competing business, claiming the defendant made false allegations against it.

BLMS Facility Solutions Plus, Inc. filed the suit against R.O.S.I. Recycled Office Systems, Inc. in the Harris County 133rd District Court on July 31.

The original petition explains that the plaintiff company consists of individuals whom the respondent formerly employed. BLMS personnel allege they were exposed to a hostile work environment when they worked for R.O.S.I.

“Certain employees of the defendant had no alternative but to leave the employ of the defendant,” court papers say. “They did so and formed the plaintiff, a competitor of the defendant.”

According to the suit, the respondent “commenced an onslaught of outrageous lies” to the complainant’s customers and vendors upon learning of the latter’s existence.

The plaintiff insists that it is not bound to a non-compete agreement.

Consequently, the business seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

It is represented by William W. Rucker of Houston.
