Houston resident alleges neighbor caused damage to her property

Lawsuits

HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing her neighbor, alleging renovations on the property caused extensive damages to the plaintiff's home.

Linda M. Glover filed a complaint March 6 in Harris County District Court against Habitat General Contractors LLC and Elmi Fatha, alleging negligence and trespassing.

According to the complaint, Glover lives at 2903 Ferndale St., and Fatha purchased the property next door at 2907 Ferndale. The suit says Fatha renovated the property, taking it down to the foundation, and in 2017 the defendant used Habitat as her general contractor.

Glover says the defendants' operations caused damages to her property and that Habitat continued to make the plaintiff's day-to-day operations difficult due to inconsiderate operations, blocking her driveway and leaving debris on her property.

Glover seeks a jury trial, up to $100,000 in damages, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is representing herself.
