HOUSTON — A Montgomery County man is suing a Bellaire doctor, alleging repeated negligence nearly led to the plaintiff's death.

Harry Reader filed a complaint April 2 in Harris County District Court against Dr. Donald E. Hauser, alleging medical negligence.

According to the complaint, Reader was a patient at The Right Step clinic Jan. 19-22, 2017. Reader says he was then hospitalized at Houston Medical Hospital until Jan. 27, 2017, and was diagnosed with respiratory failure with phenobarbital overdose.

During his time at the clinic, the suit says, Reader was under the care of Hauser who repeatedly made mistakes in the diagnosis and treatment of the plaintiff, subjecting him to a near-death experience.

The plaintiff alleges medical neglect and malfeasance.

Reader seeks judgment of $250,000, interest, court costs and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Dale L. Trimble of The Trimble Firm PLLC in Conroe.
