Baker & Hostetler issued the following announcement on April 9.

The BTI Consulting Group, Inc., of Wellesley, Mass., announced that four BakerHostetler partners have been named as 2019 BTI Client Service All-Stars. Only 335 attorneys across the country received this distinction and BakerHostetler is one of 72 firms nationwide with more than two All-Stars.

Partners Craig A. Hoffman, John S. Letchinger and Margaret Rosenthal and Chairman Paul M. Schmidt were “identified solely and exclusively by corporate counsel” at leading companies who singled them out for “incomparable levels of client service excellence.” BTI defines five overarching characteristics traits shared by All-Stars: superior client focus, unmatched client experience, understands the client’s business like no other, unparalleled legal skills and innovative thought leadership. This is the sixth consecutive year BakerHostetler attorneys have been recognized by BTI.

A prominent food and agriculture company nominated Craig A. Hoffman. A leading member of the firm’s Chambers-ranked Privacy and Data Protection team, Hoffman has guided clients through hundreds of security incidents and any resulting litigation, regulatory actions and card network assessments. He also provides proactive counsel on digital risk matters ranging from advising executive management teams and boards, to security assessments, advising on transactions, and negotiating technology contracts. Hoffman is recognized by Chambers USA and The Legal 500. He was also named a Client Service All-Star in 2016 and 2017.

An accomplished trial attorney and counselor, John S. Letchinger was singled out by a large, national retailer, the third time he has been named a BTI All-Star. He has handled a wide scope of commercial and intellectual property matters, representing industry-leading manufacturers, retailers and service providers in complex disputes, taking many cases to trial and appeal. Letchinger is recognized by Chambers USA and IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners. He was also named a Client Service All-Star in 2014 and 2017.

Margaret Rosenthal was nominated by a global food product wholesaler. She serves as co-chair of the firm’s nationwide Employment Class Action Team. Rosenthal focuses her practice on the defense of class actions, California Labor Code Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) cases and litigation of a wide array of employment claims. Rosenthal is recognized by Chambers USA and The Legal 500.

BakerHostetler Chairman Paul M. Schmidt was nominated by a Fortune 500 hospitality company. Schmidt counsels multinational corporations, private equity and hedge funds, and publicly traded partnerships, along with industrial, technology, energy and commodities businesses, on all facets of taxation, with a focus on international taxation. He chairs the firm’s governing Policy Committee. Schmidt is recognized by Chambers USA and The Legal 500 United States. He was also named a Client Service All-Star in 2017.

In November 2018, BTI Consulting Group ranked BakerHostetler among the top 30 law firms recognized for outperforming all others in client service delivery for the fifth consecutive year. The ranking comes BTI’s annual Client Service A-Team report, which ranks firms based on direct feedback from corporate counsel.
