Customer alleges water park negligence led to injuries on slide

HOUSTON — A customer is suing a Katy water park, alleging he was injured when another guest slammed into him at the bottom of a water slide.

Branon Dempsey filed a complaint April 29 in Harris County District Court against Typhoon Water Park of Texas LLC, Typhoon Water Park Management LLC, WP Ventures No. 2 LLC, WP Ventures No. 2 GP LLC, WP Ventures LLC and WP Ventures South LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Dempsey was at the defendants' Typhoon Texas Water Park on July 29, 2017 in Katy. The suit states Dempsey sustained injuries to his head, neck and lower back when he was struck by another customer who was following behind the plaintiff at the bottom of a water slide.

Dempsey seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $2.5 million, court costs, interest, attorney fees and all  other just  relief. He is represented by attorney Jeffrey W. Hastings of The Law Office of Jeffrey W. Hastings PC in Houston.
