Customer alleges Houston store's negligence caused fall on rug

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a Houston store, alleging the defendant's negligence cause her to trip and fall on a rug.

Ola Rucker filed a complaint May 21 in Harris County District Court against Zenu & Nilu Enterprise Inc., doing business as Ella Quick Mart, alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, Rucker was at Ella Quick Mart, West Mount Houston Road, Houston, on May 27, 2017. The suit says Rucker tripped and fell on a rug in front of the door, which was improperly placed, resulting in physical injuries to the plaintiff as well as pain and suffering and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant placed no signs warning of the danger.

Rucker seeks between $200,000 and $1 million, court costs, interest and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Kevin Adley and Gilbert Garza of Adley Law Firm Ltd LLP in Houston.
