Baker & McKenzie LLP issued the following announcement on June 26.

Baker McKenzie partner Mark Taylor received the Outstanding Alumni Award from Texas A&M University's Mays Business School, the highest honor a graduate can achieve.

Recipients of the Mays Outstanding Alumni Award lead lives of distinction and embody the "Aggie" core values – loyalty, integrity, excellence, leadership, selfless service and respect.

During his career, Mark has argued and tried cases related to commercial, trade secret, post-M&A and employment litigation. He has held a number of leadership roles including serving as the Firm's North America Litigation & Government Enforcement Practice Group Chair. His service to his alma matter is extensive including being a frequent guest speaker and serving on the Dean's Advisory Board.

Mark also established the Taylor Business Honors Scholarship Fund, to give back to the school and help deserving students receive an education at A&M.

On the award Mark commented, "It is an absolute privilege to recognized. There is nothing better to contribute my time and energy to than the students and faculty at A&M.”

Since the award was created, Mays has honored 83 former students who have reached outstanding achievements and have made significant contributions within their respected fields, as well as within Mays and their surrounding communities. The 2019 honorees, Peter H. Currie (Class of 1985), Mark Taylor (Class of 1983) and Wayne Roberts (Class of 1985), were recognized by the school during an awards ceremony in April.
